Dear Tabor Court Friends,
March was a marvellous, magical, momentous, mysterious, miraculous month!
Marvellous: this is how our exercisers feel! “March, March, March, March, March! Kick and Kick and Kick and Kick!” One of our exercises is done in time to this little chant. We had a lot of exercisers taking part in the month of March and they are feeling great benefits: increased strength and flexibility, better balance, increased oxygen and blood flow, healthier bones, less stiffness and pain. It is always a delight for me to meet with this dedicated fitness group on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. They are Marvellous!
Magical: Our little leprechaun pots on the tables for St. Patrick’s Day! Our lucky coin hunt to promote walking, and the lovely children from the Shannon School of Irish Dancing! Our St. Patrick’s Day was complete with the bouncing, high stepping, toe tapping, foot stomping, curly haired lassies who delighted us with their spirited Irish jigs and reels.
Momentous: Olga turns 100! March was very special because we celebrated Olga's 100th Birthday! The dining room was bursting at the seams because so many wanted to pay tribute to our quiet missionary! Flowers, cards and songs, an amazing cake decorated by Angie from the kitchen and lots of family and church friends were part of the party. A group of Tabor ladies formed an ad hoc choir and sang some of Olga’s favourite hymns. Her church friendship circle also sang. Olga gave a gracious speech at the end and topped off the event with the awesome proclamation “To God be the Glory!” What more could be said?
Mysterious and Miraculous: God’s plans and His goodness! It is a mystery to me that we in this country - Canada, this province - BC, this city—Abbotsford, and this home - Tabor Court are the recipients of such lavish favour and good gifts from the Father’s hand. The life stories from our men on Wednesday mornings testify to God’s great power and goodness. As we approach the season of Easter and remember His sacrificial Gift and miraculous Resurrection, let our Hearts be full of gratitiude and wonder!
